Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylour Andrews.
Taylour, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Old School Tap because I wanted something like our truck for my own wedding, but I couldn’t find anything like it. So I convinced my husband to turn his love for cars and my love for working with people and service industry experience into a business. We got to where we are today through the continuous support of or family and friends as well as all of our amazing clients we’ve had the opportunity to work with so far.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The hardest thing with owning a small business is finding the perfect balance of work, family and downtime. I still struggle with finding the perfect balance, but involving my kids as much as I can with the little things when I’m getting ready for events has helped a bit. My oldest (4) loves helping clean the truck before events and helps me pack up materials I need. It’s important to us as parents to involve our kids so we can teach them about building a business while still keeping it fun for the whole family.

Old School Tap is a fun and unique way to add a vintage vibe with a modern twist to your event. Our truck pours your favorite craft beers, ciders, and mixed drinks along with non-alcoholic options such as sodas and cold brew! The ability to mix up your tap selection makes Old School Tap the perfect choice for any event.
The thing I’m most proud about is that Old School Tap really is a family business; both my husband and my two kids have been there every step of the way. We’ve been able to watch our little business grow along with the amazing support from our friends and family.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I would tell those just starting out with a small business of their own to not give up. I knew it would be a lot of work going into it, but I did not realize just how much time and energy it would really take. There are going to be times where you spend hours and hours on something just for it to fall through. That’s okay though because for every one opportunity you miss there are two more there. Each time you sell a product (or in my case book a client) it is the best feeling and completely makes up for any doubts that you may have had about yourself. I wish someone would have told me sooner to value myself and my product the way it should be; the people who truly want to support you will no matter what. Keep following your passion no matter what and I can guarantee you that you will surprise yourself with your outcome!
