Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Mizioch.
Hi Samantha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
No, this was not my childhood dream. In fact, I really never had a dream when it came to a profession, and as a teenager, I was just hopping around as a means to make money and found myself building a family pretty young. All of my focus had shifted from “just getting by” with the cheapest drug store products, medicine, and food to finding an amazing all-natural company through my aunt, Heather Coe.
She really took me under her wing, took me to different meetings, and vacations, gave me different educational material, and set me up for success. Before I knew it, I was face to face with my true love, helping people and making money while doing it. A switch went off inside of me, and I wanted to be one of the women I saw, owning her own business and making money… supporting her dreams and her family at the same time. I have so many wonderful women to look up to. My mom, my grandmas, my aunts, and the friends I’ve seen along the way, have all encouraged and supported me to become the woman I am today. I had a lot of obstacles in my way, or so it felt. It really turned out, I was my own obstacle, and I was in my own way. I was making poor decisions, not setting goals, and going through the motions. There was a time, I never thought of owning my own company, let alone even being sober enough to manage one… That was not all that long ago, either.
Eventually, I had my own way of doing things, I used natural products in my home, made concoctions for my family and friends, and really before I knew it.. it all worked so well. Everyone loved my creations.
I got really specific with my goals, I buckled down, thought of a business name that best fit me and I took off! I ran.. and I still haven’t stopped. I introduced myself to a local farmers market and thought I could earn some great feedback, profits, and connections from doing just this. It took months of figuring out what people wanted, while still staying true to what I wanted out of my business. I dabbled in fun little products, sunglasses, and bath salts really I didn’t have love there. It was the potions, concoctions, and actual changes I was creating in people and for people that made me happiest, and most fulfilled. I have created a most delicious line of home care and personal care products. I make consistent blends, use high-quality ingredients, and have my customers family’s best interests in mind.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel like you probably hear the saying, “well if I could do it, you can too” I am here to tell you, all it takes is hard work toward what you love. You have to find what you love. You have to try new experiences, and reach out places to you have never been!
If I didn’t take a leap of faith, to start my own business. I mean seriously guys this was just stuff I thought was cool.
Turns out, everyone else actually thinks it’s cool too. Now I have to keep up the grind, and make this the most successful thing I’ve ever done!

The Oiled Hippy Shop LLC is the space that provides quality home care, and personal care products that are safe, simple to use, and affordable. I am a woman with many many interests, so sticking to my niche has always been hard. When forming my lines of products, I kept in mind what women and families are most using throughout the day, and how in just a small product, you can have HUGE changes. I didn’t have many interests other than just laughing and making sure whatever I was doing made me feel good. What was most important to me, and really still is.. is to make sure I am happy.
