Exploring Life & Business with Clara Sanchez of Mis Raices Cafe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clara Sanchez.

Clara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I worked for several years behind a coffee bar, I loved what I was doing there, every single morning I felt happy and motivated to go to work.

I enjoyed being a barista and talking to others, and I made a lot of amazing connections after leaving my job during the pandemic make, I realized that crafting coffee/drinks been a Barista was meant for me, so kept making drinks at home for myself, my husband, and even to some friends.

But I still felt like I was missing something in my daily life. I doubted myself too much of being capable to start my own business and it was scarier during the pandemic time, my husband, my family, and my friend(s) kept insisting me to start a business of what I was good at!

But it wasn’t until September of last year (2021), that I decided to take the leap of faith and take the risk to start my business/brand.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been easy at all, but I can’t complain, I have been extremely blessed that I’m surrounded by a lot of people who had helped, teach, coached, and supported me through my journey.

We’ve been impressed with Mis Raices Cafe, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
First of all, I want to say that there are a lot of good coffees out there, what set us apart from others we’re a Mexican coffee brand, local and freshly roasted here in Arizona, our coffee is infused with traditional Mexican flavors like a churro, horchata, chocolate, Mazapan, cafe de olla (spiced Mexican coffee), these are our most popular and best sellers in the market.

I’m humbly proud that our coffee is now available at one local store in old town Scottsdale (the mercantile of Scottsdale) and soon to be in another local store in the heart of Glendale (The Retail Therapy Boutique).

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is achieving what I have dreamed and what I want. And what I want is to get our coffee lovers delighted a delicious coffee from Hispanic countries.
