Daily Inspiration: Meet Jorge Sobarzo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Sobarzo.

Hi Jorge, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My photography journey started in 2020 when I purchased my first ever film camera which was a Minolta x-700. Right away I was fascinated by the art of shooting but with film, you don’t really know how the photograph will come out until you process the film and that was honestly the best part!

Being able to capture something that I believed was beautiful but didn’t know if it was going to come out as I saw it in my head, then you get the results it’s the best feeling ever when I see I captured that frame perfectly how I wanted it. The colors on film are unmatched! Once I saw the possibilities and eventually added a digital camera to my arsenal, I still shoot both film/and digital.

I trusted my art and fused my love for fashion, art, music, and colors together to create the art I have today. This is just the beginning for me as an artist. I have big ambitions and ideas I want to share with the world, it will come to fruition, I can feel it. Art comes first, I don’t really care for fame or big followings but I know it can open doors to big opportunities and that means I can pay my bills and keep creating.

I would appreciate anyone that reads this article to take a minute and have a look at my art that would mean the world to me. Spread peace and love and also follow your dreams no matter how big, you’re in control. Much love!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish all paths had a smooth road but that’s not the case with any type of art. Like any artist, I sometimes struggle with creative block or lack of inspiration.

I’ve learned in my journey it’s okay to have these moments, they actually make you a stronger human and better artist when you’re able to overcome all the obstacles. That’s the journey. If you do find yourself stuck take a step back. Don’t force it!

Do something else like listening to your favorite music or watching a movie that you love, there is an inspiration in anything and everything. Never give up even if you don’t get the attention you think you deserve. Trust yourself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in visual arts from photography to videos, even painting. But I am mostly known for my photographs with vibrant colors. I am most proud of my progress throughout these years. I put a lot of time and effort into my craft.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Don’t force your art. Sometimes as artists we get stuck in creative blocks and I used to think that meant I needed to focus more and do more but sometimes you get a little burnt out and that’s okay you’re human.

Just take a step back and find inspiration and anything and everything. I use music for inspiration and all other forms of art out there.
