Daily Inspiration: Meet Jimmy House

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy House.

Hi Jimmy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started weight training at the age of 5 years old and started athletics/martial arts as early as the age of 3 years old. I’ve been consistently training since then now being 26 has over 20 years of experience under my belt.

I took my early years of training and honed in on specific skills that allowed me to accomplish things such as becoming an ALL-State Wrestler in high school, setting multiple National/world records in powerlIfting, winning my natural pro card in bodybuilding, and being promoted to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in just 5 years’ time.

I am now training to take all of my skills and pursue a career in acting and professional wrestling. I work as a full-time Jiu-Jitsu/Strength Coach and competitor. I also own my own clothing business known as House Strong.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No success is ever achieved easily. I have experienced my fair share of adversity. Some I’m willing to share others I’m not out of respect for those involved.

One of my more well-known times of overcoming adversity was when I was injured 6 days before the state championships my senior year of wrestling when I was originally being projected to win my first state title leading into my senior year.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full-time Jiu-Jitsu and Strength coach out of TNT MMA Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

My coach and owner of the gym Scott Tannenbaum gave me the opportunity to coach 5 years ago and I haven’t looked back since.

It’s a job that I don’t even consider work because I work with people I love within my passions every single day.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was watching wrestling matches with my childhood hero Bill Goldberg.
