Daily Inspiration: Meet HPT Hustle Man

Today we’d like to introduce you to HPT Hustle Man.

Hi HPT, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started rapping when I was 12 rapping in headphones to record myself with my friends. I made so many hits that I knew it was my gift. When I turned 16, I dropped 16 mixtapes with 16 bars and sweet 16-bar verses called “Sweet 16”.

I’ve literally been chasing my dreams ever since. For 20 years straight and I’m still pushing!!!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not, I’ve literally been chasing this for 20 years independently. I’ve met so many clowns along the way who misguided me. I’ve been played betrayed and most definitely underpaid.

Lost a lot of people mentally and physically along with the way but it made me who I am today!!! This year, I’m finally seeing some fruits but nowhere near where I want to be yet, but I will be very soon.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create the beautiful art of music first and foremost. Sometimes I rap hardcore, sometimes I get soulfully melodic. I shoot and edit my own videos and another independent artist.

I have my own organic hair grease (Cured Hair), popcorn (Miltown Barbecue), and clothing line (Change Clothes). I write movies as well I will be shooting the first blockbuster film soon.

I’m most proud of recording 100 albums (1000 songs) in a year! I will strategically release everything until I get the respect I deserve as the greatest to ever do it!!! I’m proud that I’ve surpassed 8 million streams as well!!!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
My city is full of hustlers and styles.

We grew up in so much poverty that at the least we want to be successful so we hustle. What I don’t like is the crabs in the bucket mentality pulling each other down on the way up!

I don’t like that the young kids are lost I pray that God gives us all a better understanding of how precious life really is. I can’t be mad or judged because I was the same so I try to lead people in the right direction through music as well.

  • $60 shirts (Change Clothes).
  • $20 (Cured Hair).
  • $1000 for a verse with the video.
