Today we’d like to introduce you to Edilia Samaniego.
Hi Edilia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Edilia Samaniego, better known as “Goosey.” A nickname that was given to me by late brother Gijo. I was born and raised in Guadalupe, AZ, and grew up in Phoenix. Growing up, I was involved in sports and competitive by nature. After years of working, I reflected on myself and wanted to pursue a dream I have always had to leave a legacy of Goosey Samaniego! My goal was to create a clothing line. I had many designs and artistic ideas that I was able to put on paper. Throughout this journey, there were many Blunts, Sweat, & Tears. I had many obstacles to overcome to master my art. The first shirt I ever made was a memorial shirt for my cousin’s services. I made a total of 100 shirts for my family to support my cousin’s passing and support me and my dreams. The next shirt I created represents South Mountain Phoenix tower lights which are a big part of my life as this is what I remember as a kid growing up & parents always telling me, “no matter where in Phoenix you are, follow those lights on South Mountain to get home!”
I look back at my humble beginnings and appreciate how far I have come, but this is just the Beginning – there is No Stopping me now! Today I am the owner of “Goo-see LLC” custom clothing line and canvassed 3D Art. I have 3 brands of streetwear clothing “So Blunt,” “Stray F8,” and “HoodLoVe.”
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Not far from a smooth road. Designs have been altered or changed. Many shirts and prints have been thrown out. I am my worst critic and protectionist, giving everything 110%.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Goo-see LLC specializes in clothing and 3D art Canvases. I am known for my creative streetwear and cannabis-inspired designs. Also, I create 3D cannabis art and customized request. I am most proud of learning and mastering my craft. I started with an idea, and now I see people wearing my shirts and designs or seeing art displayed in their homes or businesses. My passion, my drive, and dedication set me apart from others. I’ve had many sleepless nights pursuing my dream.
