Daily Inspiration: Meet Briana Hightower

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Hightower.

Hi Briana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I moved to Phoenix from Ohio back in 2015 for the military. At the age of 17, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where I served for 4 years as a command and control operator. While I loved the military, I always had a love for modeling and the creative process of photo shoots.

I knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur so I began to network within my niche at the time, which was fitness. I landed a gig as a “Bang energy “ drink model which jump-started my social media. I would travel around the United States with them when I was not working for the military, and this really began to grow my social media! I separated from the military in 2019.

But I still work full-time as a military contractor. Creating is one of my passions and I love doing so! I am one semester away from graduating with my master’s degree in business management, and I plan to use that degree with starting my own personal training online coaching business and also getting into real estate and the Airbnb game!

I have a beautiful three-year-old son who is my pride and joy. Everything that I do is for him and he is the driving factor in my life! I am extremely thankful for all of the networking opportunities I have had here in Phoenix and it only goes up from here!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been an extremely challenging road to get to where I am now. I am currently a single mother which is no easy task. I have had many setbacks but I always continue to tell myself to keep going! It will pay off!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In Phoenix, I am mostly known for my modeling.

I was nominated for Arizona trending model of the year for 2021, and have worked with some of Phoenix’s best creative directors and photographers including the Arizona photographer of the year Polo Gibson. I have been published in numerous magazines, and work for many brands in and outside of Phoenix.

I would say what sets me apart from others is that I am very diverse in my work! I can model fashion or I can model fitness or I can be very creative and artsy or even model on the more sexy side. I never put myself in a set box when it comes to the creative process.

One of my most proud pieces of work is my recent project for the month of May which is mental health awareness month.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
If I am being totally honest I feel that modeling is becoming a very saturated industry.

It is very difficult with the Instagram trend and it is much easier to become a model now because of social media.

I feel that if men and women want to remain known in the field we will have to continue to really be creative and push ourselves to our limits!
