Conversations with Ricky Raschillo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricky Raschillo.

Hi Ricky, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started in the restaurant business 25 years ago with a small start-up concept. Then I was approached to franchise it so I sold it after we took it to that level. Afterward, I started developing concepts building them, and selling them I did over 20 different Restaurants over the years. 10 years ago I did my first fine dining concept a French American Bistro which was very successful until covid and then slowly but surely never fully recovered.

During that span prior to covid me and some of my Chefs were sitting around talking about a truck so I went out and actually bought one and turned it into the first Culinary Gangster Truck. It was a huge success from day one and that turned into another truck and finally a brick-and-mortar in Glenview IL. Finally, after years of visiting me and my wife decided after our daughters went to college we would make the move to Scottsdale with our 10-year-old son Jax. We were done with the cold. So that brings us here to our newest location.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a full project developing this location it didn’t even have walls or concrete so it was a ground-up which I have never had to do prior so a lot of permitting and other obstacles.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have been an Entrepreneur my whole life and have owned and operated and sold business Culinary Gangster is the only one that I have always kept and is closest to my heart that has a little of every one of my businesses in it all the good and hard and bad lessons created Culinary Gangster.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We offer a chef-driven kitchen and menu with all comfort foods with a fresh healthy twist so I believe the fitness industry can really work side by side with us.
