Conversations with Mandy Rozen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Rozen.

Hi Mandy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In my life, I feel I took the path that was expected of me. I graduated high school, went to college, graduated, and worked to get a full-time position with benefits. At the same time, I enjoyed some aspects of my full-time salary position, like creating amazing customer and peer relationships. I eventually found myself just going through the motions and simply trying to find what seemed impossible, a job that I truly found fulfilling. From a young age, I have always enjoyed cars. When it came time to get my first car, I remember going online and doing research to decide what was the best-used car that would last and be affordable to maintain and repair. To no surprise, I decided on a Honda Civic, and that little car lasted me for the next 5 years and was still worth 1/2 the value of what I bought it for when I did sell it. My enjoyment and love for cars never faded. So, I jumped at the opportunity when I was faced with starting a new career and getting out of the large corporate culture. I had the great fortune to learn about the car business from my father-in-law, Craig Rozen, who has over 40 years of management and sales experience and almost 20 years at independent car dealerships. Learning the industry from a seasoned professional and avoiding the “used car salesman” stereotype was key. I had the opportunity to learn the most important lesson of all – listen to your customers – what are they looking for? What will meet their needs?

At Auto House, we listen and create a unique car buying experience. We have used vehicles in our inventory at 3 different indoor showrooms in the Valley. We accept trade-ins, along with selling used vehicles – we can also help clients get a new vehicle. If we don’t have the right fit, we can search for the right vehicle if they are looking for something specific, and we partner with banks and credit unions for attractive auto lending rates. Most importantly, we can complete the entire sale transaction within one hour if we prepare and talk with the customer ahead of time.

My favorite part of my job is that I truly get to know my clients. Over the past 8 years, I have had the opportunity to sell vehicles to multiple people in the same family – the parents, the kids, the mother-in-law, and the grandpa. This is the greatest compliment we receive, repeat customers and referrals from them.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
During my job transition, I had a lot to learn: like all the different makes and models of vehicles, auto lending specifics, the car purchase paperwork, car valuations, and learning how to answer all the different questions that a customer may have about a vehicle or the process. Then, I became a mother 2 years into my career and added a second child into the mix 2 years later. I have truly had to learn how to juggle my family and career. Having proper work and life balance is very important, and my flexible schedule at Auto House allows I don’t miss certain special moments with my girls and husband. And sometimes, I’ll have one of my girls tag along to help Mommy at work with a short task. This is an easy way to teach them a good work ethic.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Auto House, we have beautiful indoor showrooms. This allows our clients to shop indoors out of the sun and heat. We offer a personalized car buying experience that allows our clients to focus on their work and families while we help them find the right vehicle to suit their needs. We have many used vehicles and can also help our clients with new ones. We can also help broker new car leases. We can help clients locally and in other parts of the country! We frequently sell and ship vehicles to clients out of state.

What do you think about happiness?
I think happiness in my profession comes from creating a positive car buying experience. So often, people have been taught that it is a painful, stressful, time-consuming process and doesn’t need to be that way. I even offer home deliveries (within the Phoenix metro area) for our clients who are too busy to come in, or it is simply easier for them. Our favorite testimonial is when a client states, “That was so easy! Why did I ever go anywhere else!”
