Hi Jonathan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Down To Earth is a functional beverage and wellness lifestyle brand that is on a mission to reconnect consumers with the hydrating and nourishing properties of the Earth in its most natural state. Our story stems from generations past and has since evolved into a lifelong mission.
Our family immigrated to the United States from Eastern Europe and worked incredibly hard to build a new life for themselves. Amid the hardships of starting over, sharing a freshly brewed cup of tea as a family was a ritual that was treasured each day. Our family’s recipes came from generations past and were crafted with unique herbal ingredients used in ancient healing methods.
This ritual was passed down to me, where I began watching and learning from my mom as she prepared delicious herbal remedies from fresh and organic ingredients. The flavors and the aromas inspired me to start creating teas and herbal drinks on my own.
While my elementary school classmates didn’t quite understand why i’d choose a home-brewed cinnamon-apple tea over a store-bought sugary juice box, my interest turned passion followed me through life, and led me to create Down To Earth. I started our brand very organically and really had to learn everything along the journey.
What started as a passion out of my kitchen has turned into a brand that is currently sold in 6 states with growing demand nationwide. We are a purpose-driven brand and truly hope to make the world a healthier, happier, and more Down To Earth place.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As most entrepreneurs will tell you, it is definitely far from a smooth road. I built Down To Earth purely out of passion and good intentions, but the beverage industry is dominated by a lot of large of corporations and financial institutions that make it difficult for emerging brands to be successful.
We also only use the purest and most natural ingredients in our beverages, and our beverages actually require a natural brewing process, unlike most mainstream drinks which are made from artificial powders and chemicals. As a result, it was challenging to find the right production partners that were willing to actually produce our products the natural way.
We also started with no marketing budget so all of our growth and success have mainly been through word of mouth and experiential marketing opportunities. Most brands in the space are heavily marketed which makes it quite challenging to get your message across.
Building Down To Earth has required a lot of personal and lifestyle sacrifices, but seeing how incredibly positive our products have been impacting our consumers makes it more than worth it.

We are a sustainable-focused brand and all of our beverages are bottled in glass bottles. In addition to our beverages, we also own and operate Down To Earth apparel, which features a range of apparel items, as well as Down To Earth media, which includes the Down To Earth podcast, where my sister and I discuss a range of topics relating to health, wellness, mindset, business, and lifestyle.
