Check out Tiffany Eckroth’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Eckroth.

Tiffany, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am a proud mom of two little’s, Berkeley and Sloan and a wife to the most hardworking and lovable husband a girl could ask for. His support and continued love during this business venture has been more powerful than ever. I am a full-time mom and a part-time Photographer. My girls are almost four (Berkeley) and 20 months (Sloan) and their sass and strong will attitudes make life rather interesting but also unbelievably rewarding.

I’ve always had an artsy soul and over the years have noticed myself loving and admiring a beautiful crisp photograph. A year ago this September, I decided to invest in a nice camera to take pictures of my girls. I opted for a professionally intermediate camera, just in case. I had it for an entire year before I really applied myself and learned how to use it. Have you ever bought something that was clearly over your head and definitely out of your league? Yep, that was I. September rolled around again and I had a wild hair to jump into shooting Manually. I am one of those types that jumps all in. At the end of September, I took an online class from a local couple, Amy and Jordan Demos. It blew my mind and put me leaps and bounds ahead of my current work. After that, I contemplated a business and went back and forth trying to decide if Photography was right for me. I didn’t want to take too much time away from my babies, but I also wanted to help take pressure off my husband. I did a lot of praying and asking God for guidance and clarity. One day it came to me, and it felt so good to think of myself as a photographer. From that day forward I knew it was time to start my business. Before I knew it, I took my first client the end of November right before Thanksgiving and the next week to Tyler, Texas for a family and product shoot. It has been such a blessing to have a creative outlet and still be able to raise my babies.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I strive to snapshot those natural, real-life, in the moment portraits. I like to create those candid shots with direction and impromptu whispers. I do things differently depending on the shoot. For example, I ask my couples to whisper what your favorite thing is about your finance’? Or when did you realize he was the one? My best shots are taken during those moments. Sometimes they laugh at each other; I love those shots, and other times they share the sweetest kiss. During my family portraits its all about keeping the kids happy and laughing. I direct and pose my families but also make sure they relax and keeps things fun for the kiddos. If the kids aren’t doing what I may want I always reassure mom that it’s okay and these moments are some of the best caught on camera. I want my clients to really enjoy their shoot, feel relaxed behind the camera and know that when things don’t go as planned, it’s okay because the outcome is more than likely better than we could have planned. I pride myself in keeping as consistent as possible, so my clients know exactly what to expect. My work is light and bright with film-like rich colors.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
Yes, I think an artist today has to be very creative and think outside the box. Everyone has access to a really good camera on their fancy iPhone or Droid. The market is flooded with great picture takers, so you need an edge or a reason why they would want to hire you. I am terrible about keeping up on local and national news, it’s hard for me to say for certain, but I don’t notice any change.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
