Check Out Style Twins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Style Twins. Them and their team share their story with us below:

We started our brand almost six years ago, realizing we had a platform for petite women in fashion-emphasis on the blogger world! One name change later, three runway shows and countless brand shoots under our belts, we have become a Southwest Image Consultant duo with dreams of pushing into the West and East Coast. We pride ourselves on building authentic relationships with our clients & brands as our vision has remained the same from the beginning – empowerment. Truly walking our talk.

We grew up in a single-parent household where work ethic, respect and drive were instilled in us from a very young age. Each of our strengths (Leslie Marketing & PR) and Lindsey (Esthetician & Operations) have helped us to hone in on our brand goals from where we started as bloggers with a dream in a tiny apartment to where we are now expanding & scaling our business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road! If it isn’t a challenge, we don’t want it though! Every brand has had struggles, we are no different. The first hurdle we had to clear was being taken seriously by the public. People make assumptions when they don’t know you and obviously being a growing brand, we had to navigate people just thinking we were pretty faces or incompetent or not capable of scaling a business. We have had more people tell us no than yes. The best part of being told no is that we are not for everyone and that means they are not for us.

We earned our respect in the industry. We did this with professionalism, authenticity, tenacity, staying true to our vision, hard work and we kept our circle small. We were the first to arrive on set and the last to leave whether that be for influencing or styling. If we commit our time to a project or an event, we arrive ready. We lead by example and expect a lot out of ourselves so in turn, we go above and beyond for our clients.

We have multiple published editorial features as well as partnerships with local talent agencies. A big moment of growth for us and one that we still reflect on their feedback when we work is when The Artist agency based out of Washington D.C. took the time to give us constructive feedback. In order to grow, you have to be open to that. We were both like it doesn’t even matter that you don’t want to represent us, we looked at it as a win because they didn’t even have to take the time to give us guidance! But they chose to and that says something about what we’re doing and where we’re going.

One of the biggest struggles we have had in our journey was really deciding if we wanted to continue our business partnership when we transitioned our brand from #SmartBlondes to Style Twins. It was actually when the state quarantine was implemented due to COVID-19 this past year that we really had to look at ourselves, assess what we wanted in our individual careers and what we wanted personally. It was a messy, uncertain time for both of us. However, we were actively growing. Growth requires a certain level of introspection that is uncomfortable because your actively breaking that glass ceiling on yourself to move to the next level. At the end of the day, we love what we do and why we do it. Thus, we emerged from quarantine with an even more well-oiled machine as Style Twins, full-scale relaunch with new colors, more authenticity and even more structure to achieve our short-term and long-term goals.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are twin Image Consultants and entrepreneurs. We like to think of ourselves as confidence dealers in anything that we do. We do quite a bit, here’s the breakdown:

Influencers – We work with local, national and international brands on creative content. We have spent the past six years building relationships with brands that are mutually beneficial so content can be created to help both grow. We are actually going to be launching a project that we have been working on that involves local restaurants! Keep checking our Instagram that will be a segment on our reels!

Wardrobe Stylists – Brand content, personal wardrobe styling, freelance wardrobe styling for PR agencies, family/engagement shoot styling, agency partnerships for newly signed models or models that need to build their portfolios before they book go-sees. We are excited to announce we have partnered with Corella & Co Model Development out of Tempe, Arizona! One of our niches is helping models grow in their craft whether that be print or runway, we love it! Corella & Co has the same vision and we can’t wait to work with their students!

Amazing Lash Studio Goodyear – co-owned with our mother, Susanne Ingram (aka Mama Wolf.) We entered the beauty lane as franchise owners in Dec. of 2020, hoping to be multi-unit owners as we are big on community and culture. Amazing Lash is just another avenue that we get to lift others up!

We are most proud of the reputation that we have built for ourselves as a brand and as women. Our mom set the bar high for herself and for us growing up so we pride ourselves on our professionalism, personable natures and always remaining who we are in everything that we do.

What does success mean to you?
Tough one! I think we each define success differently.

Leslie: To me, success starts within. The kind of person I want to be and who I want to present to the world, the kind of leader I want to be. If my people are winning, then I’m winning.

Lindsey: I define success on how I make people feel. At the end of the day people don’t remember what you did for them, etc. – they remember how you made them feel.
