Check Out Rebekah de la Fontaine’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebekah de la Fontaine.

Hi Rebekah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. My mom bought me my first camera for Christmas when I was still a teenager and I used to photograph everything with it! I never thought it could be a career until I got older. And then I just decided to go for it! My friend asked me to photograph her wedding and I fell in love with weddings after that! Since then, I have niched down to specialized in smaller, intimate weddings and elopements.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think starting your own business is bound to have ups and downs. My husband can attest to the fact that for a while I said I should quit and just do a regular day job. That it was too hard, I wasn’t making enough money, blah blah. And here I am! Doing this full time and photographing the best freaking couples! I am so happy where I am now and so excited for the future.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a small wedding and elopement photographer! I photograph couples all over the US and am hoping to be book an out-of-the-country wedding someday! As well as photographing couples wedding days, I help with the logistics! Most of the time–it’s people’s first wedding! They don’t know what to do, who to talk to, where to go, etc. I help with everything from location planning to crafting a timeline for them! I love helping in different ways to make the process easy, stress-free, and enjoyable! I’m always the most proud when I get a review from someone who gushes about how helpful I was throughout the process and how easy I made it! I love being a friend to my clients, too, and to be able to hype up their ideas! I had one client tell me that they wouldn’t have dreamed about eloping without my encouragement! And that makes my heart so happy.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Oh man! I am a firm believe that having a successful business takes a decent amount of luck and a lot of hard work! I don’t think anyone gets anywhere big without being at least a little bit lucky. I have been incredibly lucky to get to do this full time and I know not a lot of people get to do that. I also had a TIKTOK go viral that attributed a lot to my success today!
