Check Out Morgan Johnson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Johnson.

Hi Morgan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was 16 I bought my first DSLR camera kit and started going on photoshoots with my friends. I found a love for capturing portraits and moments in our adventures. It soon turned into taking family portraits for friends and my first wedding! I’ve always loved capturing sweet moments in people’s lives for them to cherish forever. What started on Facebook to show others my work, to now having a paid hobby and successful business! I’ve been able to travel for events and have learned so much over the last 8 years of taking photos. I love encouraging others to feel good about themselves in front of a camera. Everyone loves a boost of confidence, and I love my clients’ reactions when they see the final photos. I hope to one day open my photo studio where I throw my events for those looking to celebrate something or even take photos for fun!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
I’ve struggled to have confidence in my work. I always feel there’s someone better than me, but that doubt comes and goes! I believe my creative ability is growing, and I will always learn something new daily.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Love yourself, love your body and mind! My portrait photography journey started from family Christmas cards and graduation shoots to now doing weddings and small events! I recently started specializing in boudoir photography. It is a very empowering style of photography, and being a woman myself, I know how we struggle with self-love and acceptance of our bodies and mind. Being a photographer who can bring out the confidence in someone when taking intimate photos for them to love is something that has inspired me and others. I hope to be that person for anyone struggling with self-image and self-expression.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
My favorite part about Phoenix is its wide variety of artistic people. I’m always meeting new people with all sorts of creative talents! I like least the amount of spaces we have for these artists to showcase their work to the community.
