Check Out John Doering’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Doering.

Hi John, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Father, husband, veteran, serial entrepreneur. I have not collected a paycheck from anyone but myself since I was 27 years old (I am 52 now). My passion has always been small businesses, and I work daily to bring lessons, seminars, coaching, opportunity, and knowledge to small business owners and start-ups. Over the past 4 years, I have brought as much value as possible to my community through social media community pages. Through Scottsdale Living, Phoenix Living, Tempe Living, and the Scottsdale Living Business Edition, we have been able to help hundreds of businesses learn, grow and expand. As a top 1% Realtor in the valley, I have been able to use my experience and network to bring my passion to the life of helping small business owners and bringing our community together through our community groups and now the Scottsdale Living app.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
I wish, as I am sure any entrepreneurs have experienced, I have had highs and lows. Life has been challenging and amazing, from being flat broke to running a $40,000,000 business with over 100 employees. I have found that hard work, a true heart, and a passion for community will always make you successful in life, family, and business. It may not always seem that way, but faith will get you through the tough times, and building relationships on giving will do the same.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Outside of my family, the thing I am most happy with right now is merging our community groups with a local business. With the help of our moderator team and partners, we have seen start-ups and existing businesses thrive and grow. From our fall festival to a golf outing to our workshop Wednesday, we are bringing amazing opportunities and events to our community. We are providing value to the community and the business community. We aren’t about revenue but opportunity. Making Scottsdale Living a not-for-profit in the state of AZ will allow us to continue our mission of helping our community and small businesses.

What matters most to you? Why?
Always my family and god but on a day-to-day basis seeing my friends, partners, and others in the community grow and expand their lives through their businesses gives me huge pleasure and is a driving factor in my day-to-day life.
