Check Out Jennifer Bennington’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Bennington.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out taking pictures as a hobby, using my siblings as my models, and always had a camera almost everywhere I went. I started “Black Cat Photography” about 6 years ago when I realized this is what I wanted to do with my life.

I just recently changed my name to “Jennifer Breanne Photography” because it felt like time to change. I felt like I had outgrown my previous name was really wanted to use something more personal such as my name. I worked at a photography studio for about 2 years and then decided to go on my own.

I also have a college degree in business. I’ve been shooting professionally for about 4 years now and absolutely love it. I photograph everything from newborns to weddings.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely had its ups and downs.

Low points included doubting myself and my skills, starting a business from the ground up is always a difficult process for anyone. Luckily, I’ve had a lot of support from my friends and family, and word of mouth has been such a help with my business.

Another struggle is the competition, it seems like everyone these days has a friend or family member that “Do pictures” so for me to stand out and prove my quality has been a major objective and motive.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am known for creating every lasting moment in people’s lives. It’s my goal during each session to make my clients feel comfortable and confident.

I always have a great time with every session, no matter the type we are always laughing. I am a very easygoing person and get along with anyone. I will go as far as jumping up and down and singing nursery rhymes to the little ones to ensure I get that smile!

I specialize in people, my favorites of photography are newborns, families, maternity, and weddings! I find that my attitude and editing style sets me apart from other photographers.

What makes you happy?
Being able to be a part of my client’s special moments and lives. Knowing that I’m giving them something that they’ll have and cherish forever.

That moment only lasts a second but the pictures I give last a lifetime. Capturing and creating that happiness makes me happy.
