Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Fain.
Hi Holly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My passion for photography began with a trip to San Francisco. The city is so vibrant with imagery and unique photo opportunities. That was in 2012. I purchased my first professional camera in 2013 and have loved my journey ever since. I am so fortunate to know and network with so many fabulous photographers and industry professionals who have helped me along the way. I look forward to helping others as they venture into the world of photography.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with any other new venture, there is definitely a learning curve but with diligence and practice, I have been able to accomplish quite a bit. I started professionally shooting in 2015 and that has probably been the most challenging. I struggled to get a client base at first but eventually, I have been able to secure clients and have been referred to others, which I truly appreciate
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently specializing in portraiture and model work. I also specialize in family and lifestyle photography. I am most proud of my connection with my clients. I truly love to create something that they really love and that they can look at for years to come and still feel that excitement. One of my most favorite types of photography is maternity. A pregnant woman is one of the most beautiful images in the world. They literally glow in my lens. I think what sets me apart is the ability to expand my photography into composite imagery. I am still learning this aspect of the art but I truly love to create something beyond a photo, There is definitely a time for that art and not every portrait needs that extra splash.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love about the Phoenix area is the vast amount of different things to explore and learn. This City is abundant in cultures of all kinds and I love an opportunity to experience that.
What I think I like least is probably the congestion. I am a country girl who loves open spaces so when I am in the City I sometimes feel overwhelmed.
