Check Out Alexandra Raye’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Raye.

Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My background is actually in musical theatre! I have a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Performance and decided to get my Elite Trainer certifications last year. I have specializations in personal training, nutrition, and corrective exercise. As an online fitness coach, I work with clients on getting them healthy, sustainable results through completely customized workout and meal prep plans.

With a background and continued path in acting, I’ve been the subject of body-shaming, as well as watched friends of mine go through it. There’s always been a double standard for women in any industry, and I want to change the narrative that being “skinny” is the only way to be in shape. Being in shape is about being healthy, confident, and strong.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! Like all entrepreneurs, it’s almost always a struggle in one way or another. However, when you’re called to do something, you keep going!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I believe the thing that sets me apart from other fitness coaches is my approach. I don’t believe in before and after pictures because I think that’s a comparison game waiting to happen. I rarely post pictures in a sports bra, unlike other coaches, because I don’t want people comparing themselves to me. And most importantly, I teach my clients that being “in shape” looks like so many different things, and it’s about being stronger and more confident in your own skin while making healthier choices in their everyday lives. (And being the fitness coach who acts makes me a little different too, right?)

What were you like growing up?
I was definitely a shy kid, and I’m an introvert to this day! Sometimes people see me teaching a group fitness class or come see one of my shows and can’t believe it’s the same person! I’ve always had a passion for helping others, and I believe both acting and fitness coaching do just that in their own unique ways.
