Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Gumz.
Hi Alexandra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After graduating from Saint Mary’s of Notre Dame in 2021, I moved back to Wisconsin to figure out what my next steps were.
A year later, I am living in Scottsdale, AZ working remotely as a marketing and advertising specialist for SiriusXM + Pandora, coaching CrossFit classes, and doing some part-time influencing on Instagram.
I truly love every aspect of my life at the moment and am very grateful for how everything has pieced together. I truly do believe that everything happens for a reason!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I am very fortunate to have had the support of friends and family to get to where I am today. It would definitely not have been a smooth road if not for my parent’s guidance.
After my sophomore year of college, I suffered from anxiety and depression and was unsure of where my future would go. A huge thank you goes to my mother for getting me the help I needed and making it possible for me to finish college and find a career that I am passionate about.
From starting work at Channel 3000 in Madison, WI, to moving back home and getting my ideal position with SiriusXM, doing some work through Instagram, and coaching CrossFit at my home gym, I am so happy to have gone through the hurdles that I did to get to where I am now.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a marketing and advertising specialist for SiriusXM + Pandora. I recently started here and am so excited to be a part of such a supportive and rewarding culture.
I also am a CrossFit coach and have been for about two years now. Crossfit is what I credit for “changing my life” (my mental wellness and of course my physical fitness). Crossfit is something that many people see as intimidating, but it truly is an empowering and humbling sport with great camaraderie between classes.
Lastly, I do some collaborations on Instagram that I have really been having fun with! I love getting new clothes (who doesn’t), but then I’m also able to recommend my favorites to followers. Overall, all of these opportunities are what make me, I am so proud of the person that I am becoming.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost, my parents have been my biggest supporters. They have seen me at my worst and have encouraged me to become my best.
I can not thank them enough for all of the opportunities and guidance that they have provided me with. I would also love to credit all of the members at Portage Crossfit Cooperative for not only being motivating friends but also becoming family that I can’t imagine living without!
Lastly, my boyfriend, Logan deserves a lot of credit for being a huge supporter and for motivating me to be my best self. Without all of the people listed, I would not be half the person I am today.
