Today we’d like to introduce you to Snigdha Gopidi.
Snigdha, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
The summer before 9th grade, my parents bought a digital camera for the family to take photos on trips and special occasions. Over that summer, I was curious about the camera, so I just started taking photos of random sunsets and food like any basic teenager trying to be aesthetic. But then I started taking pictures of my sister and slowly fell in love with taking portraits because I feel as though every person has a certain beauty inside them and is unique in their own way and I just loving capturing that through a photograph.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I have never been one to be able to express myself through writing and words and never had a way to share what I needed to share with the world until I found photography. Photography started to become a way for me to express myself, incorporate my love for fashion and beauty, tell a story I needed to share, and inspire others through my work.
In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
The biggest challenge as an artist is probably the feeling of if I’m good enough because I feel like every artist, at least once has felt that pressure to impress others and thinks they need to change their art for others. But that is not the case. Create art that you love and that you are proud of because that is what will really get you farther as an artist.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Most of my work people can find through my website or Instagram, and they can support me by booking a photo shoot with me or being open to model for me for creative ideas I have.
