Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Molina.
Anthony, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I would say that being creative has always been a big part of my life. My interests would vary from traditional art, djing, producing music, fashion, and graphic design.
With over 20 years of experience now, I’ve had the opportunity to be an Art Director, Creative Director and as well as working with ad agencies in Phoenix. Specializing in brand identity, video production, web design, and digital marketing. Now as of recently, working as a UI/ UX Developer in the real estate industry.
I didn’t start picking up photography until three years ago. I had experience directing photo shoots but was never the one taking the photos at that time. Now, my goal has been to learn more about the technical aspect of photography. I really enjoy doing higher-end fashion & sports photography.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Having a strong foundation in understanding composition, it truly has helped me in photo shoots. Especially with how a model is positioned and how to work with negative space, light in a photo. Having that balance where your eye leads to the subject can be very impactful. I also believe in color grading a photo or video is so essential to get it more of a professional feel if it’s done correctly.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
My advice is to learn the basics of how a camera works before anything else. Understanding different camera settings to achieve a certain look. Honestly, you don’t have to buy the most expensive camera to get “good” photos. You can achieve that with a simpler camera and go from there.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Currently, at this time, I do have a personal website and an Instagram page that people can follow.
***Also currently finishing up on a short documentary that I filmed in LA. It’s about Los Angeles native Tristan Bowen, striving to get back on the soccer field with the elite. A look into his personal life of daily routines, past struggles and his determination to get back on another Pro MLS team.
