Flashes & Strokes: a Tale of Two Mediums

The digital and traditional arts are thriving in Phoenix. From newer, technology based media like photography and digital art to more traditional art, there is so much to see, explore and learn from throughout the region. Through our Flashes and Strokes series, we’d like to celebrate artists from both worlds: traditional and digital.

During this maternity session, Sam struck an awesome pose. I said, “Oh! Do that again!”. She then made a remark about needing to frame with the hands to stop the “tent” look. I laughed knowing exactly what she meant. Many times during pregnancy your dress just hangs and makes you look like a tent. . . As I thought about it further, the idea of pregnant women being tents seemed fitting. Tents protect and give shelter to a person. So does a pregnant woman. . . What’s more, sacred things are also put in tents. The ark of the covenant was kept in a sacred tent and the apostles wanted to create a tent for Jesus at his transfiguration. And pregnant women too hold a sacred thing. Human life. . . I love capturing the beauty and beautiful bond between two sacred people. Pregnancy and motherhood are beautiful things, and so is the child within. . . #bwphotography #bwportrait #bwphotographylovers #sacred #maternitysession #maternityphotosession #pregnant #maternityphotography #azphotographer #phoenixphotography #phoenixphotographer #portraitphotographer #portraitphotography #familyphotography #newbornphotographer #babyphotographer #newlife #tabernacle #humantent #catholicmom #bissisterhood

SENIORS‼️ It’s time… You’ve made it through almost the entire length of high school/college all so you can FINALLY graduate this semester and move on to the next step in your life. – Your long nights of procrastinating and using Quizlet and Chegg.com is going to pay off (don’t lie, I know everyone turned to those sites at one point during their year of senioritis). And for those 5% of people who really didn’t use it, then major props to you! – Now it’s your turn to spoil yourself because I mean, why not? This milestone is ALL ABOUT YOU. And what better way to show that by then spending a day pampering yourself, dressing up, going to a super cool location and getting your senior portraits done? – I’m booking up quickly for the next month and a half. Please message me ASAP so we can start planning your session! I can’t wait😍 • • • • • • • • #stavaphotography #azphotographer #azphotography #azportraitphotographer #arizonaportraitphotographer #phoenixphotographer #phoenixphotography #gcu #asu #nau #uofa #phoenixcollege #highschool #college #seniorphotos #seniorportraits #gradphotos #phoenix #arizona #portraitphotography #portrait #envisiontones #portraittones #desertphotography #glendaleaz #peoriaaz #downtownphoenix #arizonaphotographer #arizonaphotography #photographysouls

Great photography! BTW, isn’t “media” the plural for “medium?”
