Flashes & Strokes: a Tale of Two Mediums

The digital and traditional arts are thriving in Phoenix. From newer, technology based media like photography and digital art to more traditional art, there is so much to see, explore and learn from throughout the region. Through our Flashes and Strokes series, we’d like to celebrate artists from both worlds: traditional and digital.

I loved working with this family again this year for their #Christmas photos. They inspire me by their story and make me want to love people and life more and more each day because each day is a gift. It’s so fun to see how people grow and change over the years. Thanks guys for allowing to be a part of your life by capturing these memories that will last forever. . . . . . #photography #family #portraitphotography #love #photooftheday #childhoodunplugged #photographer #photoshoot #canon #beautiful #dearphotographer #lifestylephotography #familytime #happy #familypictures #familyphotographer #familyphoto #kids #magicofchildhood #familygoals #portrait #bestoftheday #glendalephotographer #phoenixphotographer

I love typography, colors, patterns, and all the little details that go into crafting a beautiful visual identity, but that's definitely not what I love the most about my work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, in business and in life, it's always been about people. There's nothing like being able to get to know someone, to see the heart behind their business, and to shine a light on that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I mean, my job is literally to get to know people and what makes them amazing at what they do, and then basically tell them how awesome they are. Which is pretty much exactly what I would have written if I was coming up with a dream job description. How sweet is that? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For that reason, I doubt I'll ever sell templates or premade logos or anything like that, even though it's really popular for people in my industry. It takes away what I love the most about my work. If anything, I want more contact points, not less. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What do you really love the most about your work? And how can you make that an even bigger part of what you do? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ PC: @laurenbumanphotography
