#AZCreatives: the local artists who inspire us

Through a mix of mediums, formats and perspectives local artists illuminate the unknown, color the previously black-and-white and add depth to our understanding of our surroundings, our lives, circumstances and more. Through our research process for the Thought provokers series we’ve come across so many works of art that have inspired us and we’d like to share some of those great examples of visual and performing arts, photography and other creative works with you below.

“Thru Jude’s Eyes No. 24” (exploring the world through the eyes of my son with autism) Words. Language. Speech. Whatever term you use, it’s not something that comes easily to everyone. Learning to find his voice has been a long journey for Jude. That journey has, at times, been harrowing. Watching him struggle, feeling helpless myself, feeling his frustration and longing to hear his thoughts and feelings through it all. But you know, words aren’t everything. They say most of communication is nonverbal and that’s a lesson that’s been driven home for my by my Jude. He often tells me more with his expression and his body language than words could ever say. When he locks his beautiful eyes with yours, there’s a message that shouts to be heard. So, despite lots of intense screaming and occasional speech regressions, I somehow still always know the truths of his magical little soul 💖
