#AZCreatives: the local artists who inspire us

Through a mix of mediums, formats and perspectives local artists illuminate the unknown, color the previously black-and-white and add depth to our understanding of our surroundings, our lives, circumstances and more. Through our research process for the Thought provokers series we’ve come across so many works of art that have inspired us and we’d like to share some of those great examples of visual and performing arts, photography and other creative works with you below.

"Beauty in Darkness" Yesterday I stumbled upon a few pics from righ before my world came crushing down on me three years ago. In my case, looking back, this is what I learned about tribulation; strength, wisdom, compassion, spirituality, hope, independence and so much more can be found in the darkest times. Darkness grows us. It is necessary to push us out of our comfort zone. After all, on the other side of that safety bubble, is where all beauty, confidence, happiness, faith, fearlessness, strength, wisdom and so much more reside. Do like @officialbillmurray says in many of his movies, "It doesn't matter." and hopefully the hard sh*t in life will pass by "easier" with that attitude. ▪ ▪ ▪ #beautyindarkness #fearlessness #strength #wisdom #spirituality #hope #mushroom #minimalart #minimalartist #inkdrawings #arts_visualization #creative_art_now #drawing #scottsdale #phoenix #phoenixartist #arizonaartist #arizona #chicago #lenoxma #artcollectors #buyart #contemporaryartcurator #contemporaryartcollectors #fineart #artistherapy #artfido #artstudio #artsanity

Hi 👋🏻 everyone!! This is me! And my face! And my works!! My name is Kristina, I go by Tina usually. Here are a few things about me, some known and some unknown, and my world. I am married to the most amazing man and we have 3 incredible kids and 1 angel baby watching over us all. I love horror movies and I have a secret affection for the macabre. I have enough tattoos that when I’m asked to list them I will often leave one or two out. I’m a stay at home mom with way too much anxiety and a dash of depression. I’ve always wanted to write a book but can never settle on a theme. I’m always down for a good burger 🍔 (actually I just like food and eating in general). I love living in AZ and pretty much all of my time is spent with my kids because my husband works like 70 hours a week. So I hold down the house! On rainy days I like to make hot chocolate and popcorn with Reese’s pieces thrown in 😍 and watch scary movies all day. Throw all that in the crazy pot and mix!! And there I am 💜 . . . . . . . #thisisme #thisismyface #thisismyart #life #lifeisbeautiful #mentalhealthawareness #anxiety #depression #hello

Last night I received a video of the recipients reaction to this gift. It hit me with all the feels and I couldn’t hold back the tears. I am so touched each and every time someone is moved by a piece of art that I created in my little corner of my house. Every late night and every second I invest in to each piece is worth it.💙 . . . #watercolor #custompainting #watercolorpainting #customwatercolor #watercolorgift #watercolorfamilyportrait #giftideas #weddinggiftidea #giftidea #painting #phoenixartist #dayofthethreadup #familyportait #petportrait #homeportrait #customgift #babyshowergift #uniquegift #bridalshowergift #housewarminggift #customhousewarminggift #illustration #illustrator #watercolorillustration #commissionedartist #commissionedartwork
